Right now I'm in an independent study class where I can work at my own pace, on one project for the entirety of the semester. I've gotten to know a some people in the few towns right across the river in East St. Louis, and have been making portraits for the past couple of weeks. I think I've fallen so hard for this place because the whole place feels very small-town and tight knit. Everyone knows each other. It's gossipy, and people stay there for their whole lives.

I would've never in a billion years considered doing anything serious in film. But here I am. It has been so, so so hard to use something doesn't feel like second nature. The images I've made with this are so different than the stuff I do for daily work, for better or worse. Whatever. It's nice be forced to think twice. Mad apologies for the dirty as all hell images-these are rough scans from a very dirty scanner.
